GNSS

GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a satellite-based positioning technology used to determine accurate location, navigation, and timing information anywhere on Earth. It is a general term that includes major satellite navigation constellations such as GPS (United States), Galileo (European Union), GLONASS (Russia), and BeiDou (China). GNSS receivers calculate their position by receiving signals from multiple satellites and using the travel time of those signals to determine coordinates. GNSS technology is widely used in GIS, surveying, mapping, remote sensing, precision agriculture, transportation, construction, and navigation. Advanced GNSS systems can provide highly accurate positioning when combined with techniques such as RTK and PPK. By supporting precise geographic positioning and real-time navigation, GNSS plays an important role in modern geospatial data collection and location-based applications.
