PPK

PPK (Post-Processed Kinematic) is a high-precision GNSS positioning method used to improve the accuracy of geographic coordinates after field data collection. It works by combining GNSS observations recorded by a rover, such as a drone or survey receiver, with correction data from a base station or Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS). The collected data is processed afterward to calculate more accurate positions and minimize common GNSS errors. PPK is widely used in drone surveying, aerial mapping, photogrammetry, topographic surveys, construction, agriculture, and GIS data collection. It is particularly useful for projects that require precise geotagging and reliable spatial measurements. Compared with standard GNSS positioning, PPK can deliver significantly improved positional accuracy without requiring corrections to be transmitted in real time.
