RTK
RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning is a highly accurate method of GNSS positioning that enhances the precision of the coordinates by applying real-time correction data. Unlike the traditional GNSS positioning, RTK applies carrier phase measurement from the base station or correction network for positioning error reduction and achieving centimeter accuracy of positioning under the right conditions. The RTK is applied in a variety of applications, including land surveying, mapping with drones, GIS data acquisition, construction, precision farming, machine guidance, and other geospatial activities that require precise coordinates. An RTK-capable receiver receives correction information using the radio, cellular communication or the Internet and calculates more accurate position coordinates. RTK significantly increases the accuracy of various field and mapping activities, including measurements, mapping of boundaries, topographic surveying, and aerial mapping.

Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) is a GNSS positioning method designed for high-accuracy location measurements in demanding geospatial workflows. It combines satellite positioning with correction information from a nearby reference station or GNSS correction network to improve the accuracy of coordinates in real time. RTK technology is commonly used with survey-grade GNSS receivers, drones, construction equipment, and mobile mapping systems. It supports applications such as topographic surveying, cadastral mapping, drone photogrammetry, precision agriculture, utility mapping, and construction layout. By correcting common GNSS errors, RTK can provide centimeter-level positioning when appropriate satellite coverage, correction services, and field conditions are available. RTK workflows can also reduce the need for extensive ground control and improve the consistency of collected spatial data, making the technology valuable for professionals working with accurate geographic coordinates and location-based measurements.
