Educational Institutions Can Now Access Free GeoExpress Annual Licenses from GeoWGS84

GeoWGS84 Corporation, the proprietor of the LizardTech® geospatial software range, has rolled out a new educational licensing initiative that grants eligible educational entities across the globe annual free licenses of GeoExpress® Professional. This program is a step to help universities, colleges, and research companies get access to professional GIS image compression technologies for their educational and research activities.


The eligible institutions may receive a free annual GeoExpress Professional license in either Floating or Local mode in addition to the complimentary 100 GB MrSID® Cartridge. GeoExpress software supports compression of big geospatial datasets, including satellite, drone, and aerial images in MrSID format.

Apply for a Free GeoExpress Educational License


Eligible educational institutions should fill out the application form and apply for a free GeoExpress Professional annual license. They need to apply for a 100 GB MrSID Cartridge as well. GeoWGS84 shall examine each application, ensure it complies with the eligibility criteria, and assist the applicants in gaining the license.


The educational license is intended solely for educating and conducting research activities. Educational institutions will be able to provide students with the professional tools necessary for working in GIS, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and GeoAI.
