Satellite Imagery of Chile | High-Resolution Satellite Images and Maps
As of March 2024, there are various choices of satellite imagery available for Chile
Chile now has a variety of satellite imagery choices, each offering different levels of resolution, accuracy, spectral bands, and dates, thanks to the progress in remote sensing technology.
Maxar Technologies is a well-known choice for satellite imagery in Chile, offering highly detailed imagery through their WorldView satellites. This imagery, with a resolution of up to 30 cm, is widely utilized in various fields such as defense, agriculture, and urban planning.
Another popular option for satellite imagery in Chile is provided by 21st Century Aerospace Technologies. This Singapore-based company specializes in advanced remote sensing imagery products and services. One of their notable offerings is the Triplesat Constellation, which consists of three high-resolution satellites. These satellites are in the same sun-synchronous orbit, with a time difference of 33 minutes between each one.
Twenty-First Century Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd (21AT) also operates another significant project called BJ-3. This project includes a pair of optical Earth observation satellites. BJ-3A was launched on June 11, 2021, while BJ-3B was launched on August 24, 2022. Like the other options mentioned, these satellites can capture images with a resolution as high as 30 cm.
Other options include KOMPSAT-3 and KOMPSAT-3A, operated by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, which provides high-resolution satellite imagery over Chile with a spatial resolution of up to 38 centimeters, and the Satellogic Aleph-1 constellation of satellites has developed a unique way to improve the spatial resolution of their panchromatic and multispectral imagery. Through their proprietary processing techniques, they can enhance the resolution of satellite imagery over Chile to 70 cm. This increase in collection resolution allows Satellogic to provide a product that maintains the original radiometric values while being more beneficial for various project requirements for customers in Chile.
Presented here is a 70 cm sample showcasing the imagery from the Satellogic Aleph-1 satellite Constellation over a wildfire in Maule, Chile. This imagery is ideal for various industries, including environmental monitoring, mapping, disaster response, farming and forestry, infrastructure development, exploration of natural resources, and an array of other disciplines.
